In September 2015, a Balfour Beatty led consortium was appointed preferred bidder for the transmission assets of the Humber Gateway OFTO wind farm. The 219MW wind farm is located off the coast of Suffolk and consists of 73 3MW turbines. The developers of the wind farm and the associated transmission assets are RWE. Assets transferred to the offshore transmission owners (OFTO) on financial close included an offshore substation platform, onshore substation and two 40km export cables.
